Chongqing Saw Increased product,Cost of and earnings from main oil crops in 2008

Main oil crops, rapeseed and peanut, saw increased product, cost and gains in 2008, according to the 2008 cost-benefit study of the two oil crops made by the Cost Survey Team of the Chongqing Pricing Bureau.

I. Rapeseed

Attributed to the increased field, price and subsidies, Chongqing's average product of rapeseeds increased to RMB 625.09 per Mu (RMB9376.35 per Hectare) in 2008, by 53.76% year on year. The average net gains increased to RMB 259.25 per Mu (RMB3888.75 per Hectare), by 179.64% year on year. The average cash earnings (including subsidies) hit RMB 572.91 per Mu (RMB8593.65 per Hectare), increasing by RMB 218.61, or 61.70% year on year.

II. peanut

Chongqing's product of peanut increased to 121.10 kilograms per Mu (1,816.5 kilograms per Hectare) in 2008 by 4.60% year on year. The production cost increased to RMB 398.35 per Mu (5,975.25 kilograms per Hectare), by 11.89% year on year. The peanut was sold at a price of RMB 300.57 for each 50 kilograms in 2008, increasing by 3.79% year on year. In addition, thanks to the increased product, the average product of peanut increased to RMB 727.98 per Mu (RMB 10,919.7 per Hectare) in 2008 by 8.54% year on year. The average cash earnings (including subsidies) hit RMB 635.92 per Mu (9,538.8 per Hectare), increasing by RMB 77.36 or 13.85% year on year.

Chongqing Hog Raising Saw Rapidly Increasing Cost, Price Dropping after Roaring and Sharply Dropped Earnings in 008

According to the 2008 study on the hog raising by the Cost Survey Team of Chongqing Pricing Bureau: supported by the national policy and drove by the market price, Chongqing revocered hog raising. The hog raisers became more confident. The hog raising in scale grew rapidly. The amount of hogs and sows on hand was resumed rapidly. The supply shortage in the market was relieved. The prices of hogs and piglets increased unsteadily; the prices hit new high of RMB 16.05/kilogram and RMB 33.26/kilogram respectively and dropped month by month thereafter. The annual average prices of hog and piglet were RMB 14.39/kilogram and RMB 26.18/kilogram respectively, increasing by 27.12% and 68.47% year on year respectively.

Chongqing Saw increased Cost, Price of, subsidies for and earnings from Main Food Crops in 2008

According to the 2008 cost-benefit study on the main food crops (middle-season long-grain nonglutinous rice, wheat and corn) in 17 districts/counties by the Cost Survey Team of Chongqing Pricing Bureau, Chongqing saw a increased cost, price of, subsidies for and earnings from main food crops simultaneously in 2008. The average product per Mu, production cost, sales price, subsidies, cash earnings increased by 9.00%, 10.03%, 7.07%, 113.24% and 17.83% year on year respectively.
