8th Global Automotive Forum of China Chongqing International Auto Industry Fair 2017 Held in CQExpo

    On the morning of June 7, the 8th Global Automotive Forum of China Chongqing International Auto Industry Fair 2017, themed “innovation, transformation and upgrading”, was held in Yuelai International Convention Center. About 800 people participated in the relevant events including Wu Cunrong, member of Standing Committee and executive vice mayor of Chongqing, Wang Ruixiang, vice chairman of the Subcommittee for Handling Proposals of the 11th CPPCC National Committee and president of China Machinery Industry Federation, persons in charge of auto manufacturers in China and experts.
    Global Automotive Forum of China Chongqing International Auto Industry Fair, a grand event in the auto industry jointly launched by Automotive Sub-Council under China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Auto Show Organizing Committee, aims to initiate the dialogues among manufacturers, government decision makers, experts and media leaders around the world, discuss the changes and challenges to the automobile industry in the world, reach a constructive and fruitful consensus, and promote the development of the automobile industry.
    Wang Ruixiang said at the forum that China's auto brands are constantly enhancing their capacity among the international competitors and comprehensively propelling the industrial transformation and upgrading. By dint of the forum, the industry will further open up and conduct more exchanges, and strive to create new opportunities and new spaces for its growth.
    Wu Cunrong introduced the attendees to the manufacturing industry, especially the automotive industry in Chongqing. He pointed out that the form of automotive products, production methods and business model are undergoing subversive changes, and China is becoming the world's fastest growing and most stable consumer market. Chongqing will closely follow the trend of the global automobile industry, take great pains to accelerate the upgrading of products and cultivate new formats, vigorously develop intelligent manufacturing, green manufacturing, flexible manufacturing and personalized manufacturing, and motivate the expansion of the automotive industry cluster. A domestically first-class and internationally well-known R&D and production base of new energy vehicles and smart cars is expected to take shape in Chongqing by 2020.
