Flights between Chongqing and Helsinki to Be Increased

Finnair has released that it holds an optimistic attitude towards Chongqing market, and is planning to increase the frequency of flights from Chongqing to Helsinki to once a day.
At present, the scheduled flights from Chongqing to Helsinki are four times weekly, with an average flying time of 9 hours. It serves not only as a shortcut air route connecting Chongqing and Europe, but also makes Helsinki more of a central hub leading to multiple destinations in Europe.
 “It is our first time to open a long-distance air route one of China’s burgeoning cities, but the result has been satisfying far beyond our expectations.” Lars Olofsson, the general manager of Finnair in China said. Besides the doubling of passenger volume, Finnair’s freight service has also provided a fast track for the export of notebook computer and auto parts & accessories as well as the import of European auto spare parts. A batch of Airbus A350s will be delivered to Finnair next year, by then we plan to increase the scheduled flights from Chongqing to Helsinki to 6 flights weekly, and the schedule of the year after next year is predicted to be one flight per day.
Lars Olofsson also signified that the growth momentum of the Chongqing flight is gratifying so far, and it is expected to double the current passenger volume during 2014-2018.
