According to a report from the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, a special train, running on the line and leaving Chongqing on March 19, has reached Duisburg of Germany on the early morning of April 5 (Beijing time), marking that a new route is developed for the export of products from our municipality's laptop base as well as delivery of other commodities to Europe.
At 9:55 pm on March 19, a special train fully loaded with Chongqing-made electronic products left Chongqing West Railway Station and headed at full speed for Duisburg of Germany. Hence begins the full operation of the international through railway transport. Previously, our municipality launched trial runs of special trains from Chongqing to Alataw Pass of Xinjiang and Moscow of Russia in last September and this January respectively. This time and for the first time, the special train passed by domestic railway stations including Dazhou, Ankang, Xi'an, Lanzhou, Alataw Pass of Urumqi while at the international railway line sections, the train went through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, and finally reached Duisburg of Germany. With a total length of 11179 km, the whole journey spanned 6 countries in 16 days.
To ensure the success of this full-length operation, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology (Chongqing Logistics Office) held teleconferences and on-the-spot conferences for many times with HP, CRIMT, DB and some other transport companies to solve relevant problems. It not only realized rapid transportation and convenient customs clearance under the assistance of the Ministry of Railways, the Customs and other departments concerned of the other five countries, but also organized resident IT enterprises to provide goods, coordinate the supply of cases, and use technologies to measure the effects of the full-length operation, customs clearance, and weather on electronic products.
Head of the Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology expressed that, this successful operation indicates the completion of the Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe international through railway line and marks a further step for Chongqing Municipality to fulfill its logistics development goal, ameliorate inland opening up environment and build a logistics base in western China;  this success is undoubtedly a milestone in the history of Chongqing's development.
